About CIRCA5000 • 4 min read
Meet the people investing for the human future.
We love getting to know our investors and are delighted to be able to share their individual stories with the wider CIRCA5000 community.
Our June investor story comes from Richard Dillon, read more about his investment journey and motivations below.
Probably just at the start of the pandemic, I was kind of reflecting on some of the drivers of poor health in the community, which motivated me to start investing in CIRCA5000.
If you look at the big wicked problems that face us, like climate change, biodiversity, the air pollution - the health service just can't fix that.
We fundamentally have to change the civilisation that we live in and its priorities really.
You just made it so accessible - I think that’s one of the unique things about CIRCA5000, is that you make it so accessible for so many people.
You can easily feel so disempowered, and you think, we need to create this new society in the deathrows of this old one.
It's not just one person, it's a community of friends and associates that are involved in a great adventure.
As well as the individual investment, and how that can make my future a bit more financially secure, it's about how we can create this great adventure of creating a new civilisation and making people feel part of that – the shared journey.
Well, I'm in my 50s, I'm hoping I can have sufficient funds to not have to work in my 70s, because that's what's being presented to a lot of young people now.
I've worked in healthcare and I've worked in end of life care for 20 to 30 years, but there's so many more things I'm interested in and it's just having the funds to kind of explore all of that.
For me, the narrative is how we build this beautiful world - we’ve got a beautiful world, but how do we restore it?
How do we heal that and how do we heal each other after all this damage that's been done - it's that story of the big adventure.
It’s as important as having enough money, feeling like your life has got purpose and value.
For lots of people, you've created an open door for them to contribute - whatever their motivation is, whether they just don't want to be part of the problem, maybe it's just a general view, I want to be a bit better off - you make that so accessible.
